Death Doula Services

Creative & Compassionate Support

Every death is different, and every situation has a unique set of needs. Below are a few of the services I offer as a death doula. Whatever kind of support you need, I will show up as a non-judgmental witness with a compassionate, calm presence. I serve in-person clients in the greater Springfield, Missouri area. Virtual services are also available.

Creative Services

I use creative prompts and exercises that allow us to plan with a sense of play.

I also offer creative writing services for memoir completion, obituary, eulogy, and letter writing.

Bedside Vigiling

In the last hours, I will sit with you, your person, or pet so they are not alone.

Through virtual or in-person meetings, we will get to the heart of what matters to you and plot out a plan that honors your life and tells the story of your truest self.

End-of-Life Planning

Grief Support

I will be available to support your bereavement for a year after the death occurs.

Harp for Comfort

I play the harp recreationally and offer gentle live music during in-person visits or bedside vigils. This is not a performance service and is available as requested at no additional charge.

Sliding Scale Pricing

My sliding scale pricing model is based on the work of Alexis J. Cunningfolk and helps me extend my services to underserved and marginalized communities. The sliding scale allows my services to be obtained at multiple price points based on client circumstances. I believe everyone deserves compassionate care at the end of life, and this tiered pricing reflects that we live in an unjust world. One that can be made more equitable when the most privileged populations help support the less privileged. Please read the descriptions of each tier to determine where you might fit. If you’re unsure, please feel free to contact me.

Tier 1

This tier represents the actual cost of my services. If you choose a tier below Tier 1, you are receiving a discount. If paying for these services would not cause hardship for you, you likely fall here. Most of my clients fit under this category. If you are financially stable, own property or rent higher-end property, have personal savings, or spend very little time worried about necessities, this tier is likely where you fit. Your financial accountability helps me offer services to more marginalized folks.

Tier 2

If paying for these services would require a temporary financial sacrifice but not cause long-term hardship in your life, you likely fall under Tier 2. If you are paying down debt, have steady income but little-to-no expendable income, do not spend most of your time worrying about basic needs, and do not have the ability to ask others in your life for financial support, this tier is likely where you fit. Your financial accountability helps me offer services to more marginalized folks.

Tier 3

This tier acknowledges that without the support of the first two tiers, some people would not be able to access my services. If you struggle with access to housing, food, health care, or are living paycheck to paycheck or in significant debt, this tier is likely where you fit. You deserve the same compassionate care as anyone in Tier 1 or 2. Please be mindful that if you choose this tier when you can truthfully afford higher prices, you are limiting access to those who truly need the gift of financial flexibility. Extended payment plans and trade options are available as needed within this tier.
